Choose the host device, then a Headless package.​

Choose Standard for core file features or Pro for accounts and online services. JS and Wasm include an interface; packages without one require a separately hosted frontend. See all attachments on the GitHub release page.

Built-in JavaScript Web interface. Recommended for first use.

Windows

x64 offers EXE and MSI; ARM64 offers ZIP. All packages include a Java runtime.

  • Choose x64 or ARM64 for the computer running Headless, rather than the device running your browser
  • Use EXE or MSI for x64; extract the ARM64 ZIP and run FolderSpan-Runtime.exe
  • Native WebRTC is currently unavailable on Windows ARM64
  • Includes a Java runtime; no separate Java installation is needed

DMG and PKG are available for Apple silicon and Intel. All packages include a Java runtime.

Linux

DEB, RPM, and TAR.GZ are available for x64 and ARM64. All packages include a Java runtime.

  • Check your architecture with uname -m: choose x64 for x86_64 or ARM64 for aarch64
  • Use DEB for Debian / Ubuntu or RPM for Fedora / RHEL
  • TAR.GZ is a general-purpose archive; the required native system dependencies must still be installed
  • Includes a Java runtime; run FolderSpan-Runtime after installation or extraction

Run headless. Access from a browser.​

All packages run without a desktop window. Choose JS, Wasm, or no Web UI to suit your setup.

  1. 01

    Supports x64 and ARM64 on Windows, macOS, and Linux. All packages include a Java runtime.

  2. 02

    JS packages include a browser interface and are recommended for first use. Wasm requires browser support and does not fall back to JS.

  3. 03

    Packages without a Web UI require a separate frontend of the same version and edition. Configure FOLDERSPAN_WEB_UI_ALLOWED_ORIGINS when the frontend and runtime use different origins.

  4. 04

    Standard retains core file features. Pro accounts, cloud configuration sync, and online features are available through the matching Pro Web interface.

Verify your download

After downloading, verify file integrity using the checksum on this page or SHA256SUMS.txt .

START HEADLESS

Start the runtime. Open your browser.​

After installation or extraction, run FolderSpan-Runtime (on Windows, FolderSpan-Runtime.exe), open the address shown in the console, and enter the access key displayed on first startup. This key is separate from your FolderSpan account password.

Connection and usage guide

The default local address is http://127.0.0.1:12043; for remote access, prefer the HTTPS address shown in the console. Wasm requires a compatible browser.

Desktop and Headless share an instance lock under the same system user and data directory. Exit one before starting the other. Tasks are not guaranteed to continue after the page is closed, switched, or disconnected.
